It’s been snowing where I live for about a week straight, so I’ve enjoyed my snow days (no school!) with bundles of blankets, warm drinks, and treacherous and bitter movies set in a snowy landscape. Here are some haiku reviews for just a few of them, movies of all genres spanning multiple decades:
Everest (2015)
Wait, am I supposed
to feel bad for these people?
Why would you do that?
Doctor Zhivago (1965)
It’s in serious
competition for coldest
movie of all time
The Revenant (2015)
Screenwriter Mark L.
Smith has the oddest career.
For real, look it up.
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Not my favorite
Tarantino. It ranks near
the bottom for me.
The Shining (1980)
All work and no play
makes Jack a dull boy. All work
and no play makes Jack
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
We don’t talk enough
about how gross the tauntaun
sleeping scene was/is.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
So many Bond flicks
have ski sequences, but this
is the Bond ski film.
Frozen (2013)
Now that most of the
phenomenon is over…
…the song is damn good
The White Buffalo (1977)
Bronson does “Moby
Dick” with a mechanical
buffalo. Funky!
Eight Below (2006)
If you want to hear
my thoughts on this movie, you
can hear them right here
