Halloween is around the corner and as is tradition here at Feature Presentation, it's time for some spooky haiku reviews! This time, we're highlighting film adaptations born from the mind of the great Stephen King. From the classic to the contemporary, from the great to the...not, here is a sample of what King movies have to offer:
Carrie (1976)
De Palma directs
the shit out of this. I want
to marry Sissy.
Carrie (2013)
Julianne Moore, love
of my life, I swear this could
never be your fault.
Silver Bullet (1985)
Justification
for murder that could rival
one Dexter Morgan.
The Boogeyman (2023)
Stephen King meets the
worst trend we’ve seen in horror.
And who asked for that?
It (2017)
This still works. It is
pretty spooky from start to
finish. You’ll float too!
It Chapter Two (2019)
And then there’s this one.
What the hell happened? They had
the perfect new cast!
Creepshow (1982)
Ranked: Nielson, green goo,
”Crate,” wrap around, “Father’s Day,”
then the cockroaches.
Salem’s Lot (1979)
Maybe you had to
grow up with this one. It’s fine,
sure, but three hours?
Salem’s Lot (2024)
Okay, maybe I’m
just not a “Salem’s Lot” guy.
Need that Sox jacket.
Firestarter (1984) and Cat’s Eye (1985)
If you want to hear
my thoughts on these movies, you
can hear them right here
