The summer movie season is coming to a close and I've been writing so much about the Summer of '89 that I haven't covered as much from the Summer of '24! Here are a few reviews for movies I haven't written about yet, in haiku form. For a couple of these, you'll hear my extended thoughts on our Best of 2024 podcast next year...
The Fall Guy (2024)
At least the movie’s
director just admitted
he ripped off “Hopper”
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
The trilogy was
good, but I’m so just aped out
at this point. I’m good!
The Blue Angels (2024)
It’s propaganda,
but it’s dope propaganda.
And great in IMAX!
Ezra (2024)
Nobody saw this,
but it really wasn’t half
bad. An easy watch.
Kinds of Kindness (2024)
You were either down
for this or you weren’t at all.
Me? Totally down.
Thelma (2024)
The perfect double
with “The Beekeeper.” For real.
I miss my grandma.
Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 (2024)
Regardless of how
I felt, I wanted “Chapter
2” in the theater
Longlegs (2024)
What would you think of
me if I told you this was
a new comfort film?
