All the characters in Love Actually are problematic. I also enjoy the multiple narratives coming together, Taylor, but the cheating with Rickman, the Hugh Grant power dynamic with his staffer and starting a romantic relationship with her….maybe just annoyed I can’t watch this with my kids. I’d need to pause to disclaim it out every 5 minutes.
It has a lotttt of faults, I certainly can't disagree there, but I think the overarching themes of love having many different forms is what keeps me coming back to this one. It definitely wouldn't be made now, and I think Richard Curtis is self-aware about that.
