This October, I’ll be talking about the Halloween franchise every Friday, exclusively for paid subscribers. Not only is the original Halloween my favorite horror movie, but the franchise is, by extension, my favorite horror franchise. I’ve got some complicated feelings about some, well, most of the entries, but the original is an unassailable masterpiece. There isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said, so I thought I would go full-on personal history and use these column inches as a chance to talk about all of the things I personally love about this movie. This is supposed to be almost like a commentary, written and designed to be read while watching the film.
