Plot: An assassin is shot by her ruthless employer, Bill, and other members of their assassination circle – but she lives to plot her vengeance.
Direction & Screenplay: Quentin Tarantino has achieved Hall-of-Fame status and although he had some massive hits before this film, this was his biggest swing and showed that he had an interest in making giant movies. He gets to do anything and everything he loves here, from Shaw Brothers-inspired martial arts flicks to revenge and crime epics. He's at his best when he's inspired by movies he loves and this is one of the best examples of that.
Performances: Uma Thurman is...is there any other word than awesome? She's just freakin' cool, dude. The supporting cast doesn't really shine until Volume II (aside from the Vivica A. Fox scene), so this is The Uma Show. She's just rad.
Cinematography: This was Robert Richardson's first collaboration with Tarantino and he's shot all of QT's films since. His work here is good (duh! look at it! you can see why he stuck around!), his work in other QT films (Hateful Eight, ...Hollywood) is great.
Best Moment: The Crazy 88 fight sequence, of course.
Imaginary Accolade: Car I Would Least Like to Be Driving if I Got Pulled Over, Awarded To - The Pussy Wagon
Everything is too long! Is it too long? There's nothing wrong with 111 minutes, but it's only half a movie.
Rating: One half of a good movie!
